EPA delays WOTUS land grab Written by Reid Rosenthal on October 11, 2014 · Have a comment? Friend, EPA just blinked. The Feds just announced that for the second time they are extending the deadline for the public to comment on their WOTUS rule. The deadline has been moved from October 20th to November 14th. Why? Because they are feeling the heat from the public! CFACT is proud to be part of the campaign educating the public about EPA’s scheme to redefine what is meant by the “waters of the United States” (WOTUS). People are figuring out that this proposed rule is not about water at all. It’s about controlling land, and lots of it. I am proud that over 50,000 Americans have so-far signed CFACT’s petition to EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers. We were hoping to submit thousands more by the October deadline, and this extension gives us even more time to get to work! Will you help us launch the final big push to add the names of thousands more concerned Americans to CFACT’s statement calling on the Obama administration to “ditch” its outrageous WOTUS rule? Your contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more will help allow us to make direct contact and invite hundreds of thousands more to sign up and join the fight. Together, let’s get so many additional Americans signed up against this rule that the bureaucrats can’t ignore them! It’s crunch time. The Administration knows that informed public opinion has turned against them on WOTUS. There’s a revolving door between the Obama administration and Big Green advocacy organizations. Radical Greens move freely back and forth between the two. All too often the Greens are able to write their agenda directly into the Federal Register. But not this time. EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy actually said, “I have never proposed anything that I thought would be so well-received as this that has fallen totally flat on its face.” Educating the public and empowering people to take action is our mission at CFACT. We’re definitely making an impact and we’ve caught them off-guard. But let’s not kid ourselves. For Green-Left ideologues, redefining the “waters of the United States” to include every occasionally wet ditch and puddle in the nation is a bureaucrat’s dream come true. The EPA is already out of control. It recently slapped a fine of $75,000 (PER DAY!) on Wyoming homeowners Katie and Andy Johnson for building a pond on their own property! How’s a hard-working welder like Andy Johnson supposed to stand up against the vast resources of the feds? How much further can we let them go? Dare we let federal regulators bypass Congress and grab control over so much private American land with the stroke of a pen? It takes people power to stop them. Every name counts. Can we count on your help so CFACT can reach out and sign up thousands more? This new November date gives us the chance to educate many more people and get them involved. But we can’t reach more people without your help. Let’s get the pressure off of American homeowners, farmers and businesses and put it back on Washington bureaucrats – where it belongs. Join with CFACT now, and let’s tell the Obama administration loud and clear to “ditch” this WOTUS rule! For nature and people too, Craig Rucker Co-Founder and Executive Director P.S. Please circulate CFACT’s “Ditch the rule” statement to as many people as you can and ask them to do the same. Keep the petition moving. Together, let’s demand our government heed the voice of the people. Hands off our land!
