62,882 signers tell EPA to “ditch the rule!” Written by Reid Rosenthal on November 15, 2014 · Have a comment? 62,882 signers tell EPA to “Ditch the rule!” Friend,EPA’s proposal to redefine waters of the United States (WOTUS) to give them control of land anywhere near a puddle, ditch or stream is a catastrophe for property rights. Today is the deadline to speak up and tell EPA not to go there. 62,882 of you did! Thank you to everyone who signed CFACT’s statement telling EPA to ditch the WOTUS rule and circulated it to your friends. Yesterday we submitted the statement and everyone’s signature to EPA. The complete submission has become part of the official record. At CFACT we investigate, research and report on crucial issues like EPA’s WOTUS land grab every day. We’ve compiled quite an archive of research on WOTUS. None of it matters without you. Fortunately, our friends are the best — informed individuals, willing to take action and be heard. We’re proud to know you. In his latest write-up, Ron Arnold summarizes what a group of 25 U.S. Senators told the President about WOTUS: The Obama administration claims the proposed “Waters of the United States” rule responds to prior requests for a Clean Water Act rulemaking. It does not. The Obama administration insinuates that opposition to the proposed rule is equivalent to opposition to clean water. It is not. EPA has attempted to delegitimize questions and concerns surrounding the proposed rule. Concerns are legitimate. EPA and the Corps have blatantly misrepresented the impacts of increased Clean Water Act jurisdiction. The impacts are real. EPA’s social media advocacy in favor of the proposed “Waters of the United States” rule prejudices the rulemaking process. It kills debate. Take a look at rest of what Ron Arnold had to say at CFACT.org. The Obama administration is unilaterally creating new rules as fast as the Federal Registercan print them. As the woman sang in the Farm Bureau’s excellent video, we “don’t need more government anyhow.” She couldn’t be more right.
